The International Quadball Association (IQA) is proud to support the second year of quadball in the Ubuntu Sports Festival 2025 (August 4-11th), an event that brings together communities across Uganda to celebrate sports, culture, and education. Organized in collaboration with Quadball Uganda, this festival provides young athletes with the opportunity to experience a diverse range of sports, including quadball.
A Week of Sports, Learning, and Community
Due to increasing demand, the 2025 edition of the festival is expanding to a full week, welcoming over 300 children daily for specialized sports training, conservation initiatives, and cultural activities. Participants will engage in a variety of disciplines, such as: rugby, soccer, basketball, athletics, netball, skipping, traditional African games and, of course: quadball
Quadball’s Growing Presence in Uganda
Quadball made its debut at Ubuntu Sports Festival in 2024, quickly becoming a highlight of the event. While many were unfamiliar with the sport at first, its fast-paced and inclusive nature made it an instant favorite. In 2025, quadball returns for its second edition at the festival, reaching even more young athletes and fostering its growth in Uganda’s sports landscape.
Through our partnership with Quadball Uganda, this year’s festival will offer more opportunities for participants to learn, play, and compete in quadball, strengthening its presence in the region.

More Than Sports: A Celebration of Culture and Conservation
Ubuntu Sports Festival is not just about competition—it’s also a platform for cultural exchange and sustainability initiatives. In addition to sports coaching, participants and visitors can enjoy:
- Traditional music and dance performances
- Games and competitions with prizes
- Fundraising initiatives supporting community sports programs and development
