World Cup - The next IQA World Cup is currently scheduled to take place in Richmond, Virginia in the United States of America in the summer of 2023

Continental games - Bidding is currently open for European Games and Pan American Games which are both scheduled to take place in the summer of 2022

The International Quadball Association (IQA) is looking for the new Executive Director (ED), after Aaron Carroll stepped down. The Interim Executive Director is Jamie Turbet, also current Director of Membership & Gameplay. Interested candidates should read the below carefully before submitting an application. 

The Executive Director of the IQA leads the organization into an exciting future, driving strategic initiatives, fostering collaboration, and championing the values of quadball across continents. Working closely with our team of Directors, the Executive Director plays a key role in organizing and coordinating quadball events on an international scale.

A time commitment of 10 hours per week at minimum, and over 20 hours per week in exceptional situations. 

Lead a team of department Directors, and meet with them regularly.

Attend a monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees. 

Set the priorities of the international federation of quadball, along with the Board of Trustees.

Applicants must be proficient in both verbal and written English. 

Applicants are required to submit the following data and documentation: 

Applicant information (such as full name, and country of residence).

Application materials (expression of interest on being the Executive Director, skills and experiences that would be beneficial in this role, and at least one piece of supporting documentation, such as a recommendation letter, a professional resume or CV, or relevant work product examples).

To apply, please complete this Google Form by May 12, 2024. The application process will be as follows: 

By May 12, 2024: all valid applications are submitted. 

By May 31, 2024: all interviews are conducted, applications are discussed, and the new Executive Director is appointed.

The Chair will, in coordination with the Board and the relevant IQA staff, contact the new Executive Director for onboarding procedures.

IQA Executive Director (ED) Applications are Now Open

We are thrilled to announce the newly appointed positions of the Board of Trustees for the year 2024.

Following the Annual General Assembly held on February 24th, we welcomed two new trustees: Daniel Price and Vini Alves. Following their selection, the trustees gathered to allocate responsibilities among the six members.

The assigned positions are the following: 

Brenda Flores: Chair 
Ariel Heiblum: Vice-Chair
Marc Alcalà-i-Rams: Secretary
Andy Marmer: Treasurer
Daniel Price: Vice-Treasurer
Vini Alves: Vice-Secetary


Brenda Flores said: "I'm incredibly excited to have been elected as the chair of the IQA. Being the first Latina to hold this position is a tremendous honor, and I'm committed to bringing a fresh perspective. Moreover, being surrounded by a more diverse group of individuals this time around is incredibly motivating. I want all members of the IQA, including countries, teams, and players, to know that we're here to listen and to work towards enhancing the institution."

"I'm very excited to be working with them this year and have all confidence they'll do great work in leading the IQA this year", said Jamie Turbet, Interim Executive Director

Board of Trustees Positions Announced

This past week, a team of 7 players from Quadball Uganda loaded their hoops onto their bus and set out to bring our wonderful sport to no fewer than 4 new communities!

The journey started in Adjumani, 570 kms (!) from their hometown of Masaka. 

The players were welcomed with enthusiasm by the different schools they visited, and students ages 3-17 were eager to try their hand at this brand new sport. With over 900 attendees across the tour, the team made a huge impact. 

The event was a great success, and was met with the approval of the IQA Expansion Manager Negra Flores:

"I am very proud of the path Quadball Uganda is following, and grateful to SportsUganda for their support. It is through such partnerships that our sport truly expands. Being an inclusive and refreshing option, we are confident that more organizations around the world will want to bring quadball to more locations within their countries. Quadball Uganda stands out for its resilience and genuine intention to introduce our sport to children. They are aware that it is with children that quadball will have excellent opportunities to endure over time."

We hope this momentum helps propel the sport to new heights in Uganda, and we hope to see many new players on the international stage soon.

Quadball Around the World: Ugandan Tour

We are excited to announce a number of changes to our Board of Trustees and IQA management team. 

After a successful AGM, we have elected two new trustees to join our existing board: 

Daniel Edward Price Croft, Catalonia (he/him)

On being elected, Daniel says:  "I am deeply honoured to have been chosen by my peers for the role of Trustee for the International Quadball Association. I look forward to contributing to the growth and success of our community, working alongside fellow trustees to advance the sport globally."

Vini says: "I'm really happy to know that I was chosen to be a trustee and I'm so excited to start contributing to IQA in this position. Quadball have played a big role in my life since I joined the community, and I hope that I can help the development of the sport worldwide."

Andy Marmer, Chair of our Board of Trustees, said: 

“I'm excited to welcome Dan and Vini to the IQA Board of Trustees. They each have a variety of experiences and perspective that will enrich the board and benefit the IQA and the sport of quadball as a whole.”

In addition to welcoming two new trustees, we also say goodbye to a previous trustee. Luke Derrick has resigned from this role.

We look forward to working with our Board of Trustees as we continue to lead and promote the sport of quadball across the world.

We are saddened to announce that Aaron Caroll has decided to step down as Executive Director of the IQA. 

We are very grateful to Aaron for his years of service to the IQA, and his drive and passion for the organization.

“Aaron has been a tremendous servant to the IQA and the organization is better because of his involvement. We will miss him but wish him the best of luck moving forward.”
