Our Board of Trustees lead the International Quadball Association, and has ultimate authority over the business, policies, affairs, and activities of the IQA.

Trustees have a strong vision and passion to improve the IQA. They serve as a small committee who make governing decisions for the organization, and have a direct impact in shaping the future of the organization and the sport overall.

The Board drives the IQA to advance our mission and vision, and to create a positive impact in our evolving community.

What Trustees Do

The Board of Trustees are volunteers who make strategic decisions about the IQA’s activities and affairs.

This includes:

  • leading quadball development around the world
  • long-term strategic planning of the sport of quadball
  • financial oversight of the IQA
  • building an inclusive and welcoming culture among players

Day-to-day operations, such as organizing events, working with NGBs, and developing the rulebook, are managed by our department directors.

Trustees meet every month to review the month’s progress with department directors, and to discuss and vote on any outstanding or upcoming business.

Trustee Powers

The board may exercise all powers granted to the IQA, and perform all lawful acts required by the affairs of the IQA, so long as the exercise of such powers and the doing of such acts are consistent with the IQA’s purposes.

The powers of the board include, but are not limited to:

  •  hiring, evaluating, terminating, and setting compensation for any staff
  • admitting new members, reclassifying, or terminating memberships as provided in the constitution
  • maintaining a culture of ethical behavior and compliance throughout the IQA
  • achieving transparency in the operations of the IQA, as much as is reasonable
  • setting the strategic plan, budget, and corporate performance measures of the IQA
  • monitoring the financial reporting process, and the legal and regulatory compliance program
  • setting policy on capital distribution, financial strategies, borrowing commitments, and long range financial planning
  • monitoring the IQA’s assets to ensure that they are properly protected
  • conducting an annual review of the IQA’s performance and effectiveness, and determining future actions required to achieve the IQA’s mission
  • taking other such action as is customary for a board of directors of a nonprofit corporation
